The recommendations by the BBC for those who unusual weather in the United Kingdom's drive needs.
Warm clothes, a blanket and a thermos with a hot beverage. At least the Chelsea tractors would be a good use, the drivers know how to drive a vehicle with 4 wheels in the snow!

I drove for almost 40 years, mainly N. York and I've never had a problem with snow or ice.
Snow tires and chains are a bit OTT for most people in the UK, as the number of days of snow came, we are in a typical winter vegetable. No doubt, keep a shovel in the trunk of my car when ......... and I have a 4x4 () does not live anywhere near a big city or Chelsea for that matter.
